Patty and I were scheduled to attend the wiki session on 01/06/2010 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. However, Patty was unable to attend when this date came up. I attended to gather information on how to create the wiki page and did so while at the induction session. I stayed at this session from 5:00pm-6:15pm.

Patty and I met on Tuesday, 02/23/2010 at Patty's home from approximately 4:00pm-6:00pm to discuss multiple cases I had concerns with recently. One student was referred at the middle school level for SLD. After reviewing his records and testing him I could not label him as SLD. He missed over 30 days of school, and when at school, sleeps through most classes. Patty and I talked about missing instructional time, labeling kids as SLD in general, and how to go forth with this case. I was also concerned with a student I tested whose scores were only discrepant for Oral Language using the WIAT-II. I asked the SLP to do a speech evaluation (with permission from parents) to see if she found any language deficits. Patty and I discussed options and recommendations for this student. We also talked about what to expect from EI meetings, as this is my first year working for the IU and being involved in EI. (Last year I completed my internship in Virginia and was not involved in EI.) I had some questions about Access forms, requesting floaters, revising my calendar and using sick/personal days, etc.)
